If you could create a breed or a variety of a breed, what would you make?

I want a crow-less rooster...

I was just about to post that. I used to have one. I think it was a California White or another type similar to a White Leghorn. Not only did he never crow, he would only mount the hens inside the chicken tractor, never outside. I guess he was shy. . But when he would catch one inside the tractor all Hell would break loose. He was a strange rooster. I always thought if I could breed that crow-less trait, or whatever, then I could make a mint.

I would love to develop/have a "bantam mohawk" chicken breed similar to how our girl Hawk came out. Pictured below is her as a baby and then later as an adult. She was crossed out of a Golden Polish roo and a mixed (we believe) Gold Laced/EE mom?

I’d love to create a rumpless henny feathered silver moorhead (lakenvelder and dark brown gene together) pearl eyed fibro OEGB type bird. Any idea how I could start?

RIR that's not red.

Look up the Rhode Island White ;)

any color variant of the barred gene, like red barring or blue/red barring in the same vain of blue laced red wyandottes. a barred chicken with wacky colors would be cool

Crele, blue cuckoo, lavender cuckoo, etc...

Well, that is true, but even in established breeds there is variance, no bird is identical, some will always fit a written standard more than others... And, happily, unlike many other animals, a generation for a chicken can be less than a year... What's really needed is a strong understanding of the traits you want and if they are dominant, recessive, or neither... And it depends on how picky you are... In the case of the Golden Crested Easter Egger, they would have to be buff (not hard to do), lay colored eggs (not hard either) and have a crest. Best would be to choose dominant traits that you want, then breed out unwanted recessives and breed in wanted recessives over some generations... In the case of the Golden Crested Easter Egger, I would have to breed out Silkie fluff feathers... and only hatch green eggs.

I am doing something similar, though I don't care about feather color. Mainly I want a muff and a small crest, various egg colors, clean legs, and heat tolerance. My parent stock include Brabranters, Ameraucana, EEs, Cream Legbars, Swedish Flower Hens, and Penedesencas.

I'm currently raising a group of four Creve Coeurs. I'm hoping to breed them larger (wow they're tiny) and more heat tolerant. They're pretty hardy so far, they just don't do well in the high humidity and heat we have in Louisiana.

I'd love a blue laced red cochin. I love my cochins. I have a white and a blue! I've no idea if that color exists or not. I also love the Australian standard for Australorps.

Over time I plan to breed for:

Heat hardiness
Clean legs
rumplessness
clean tight feathering
alert personality.

But I plan to enjoy all the different colors along the way!
