I love where I am but I do miss Georgia at times. For now I am very content and happy just to be here at home.

8 months a year I love where I am here in central Pa. but the older I get the more I HATE winter. I'd love to be able to spend 8 months here and 4 months someplace warmer but the logistics of moving us, 6 setters, 1 cat and 10 chickens twice a year is kind of daunting. lol

We're been nomads, lived in NH, SC, NC, MI, CT, NY, VA, FL, TX, HI, CA, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.

Can't complain about NH, lots of hills and lakes, generally people with a good work ethic, low crime, access to the history and culture of Boston, etc.

The Pacific Northwest, Idaho and Wyoming are appealing.

I love Alaska in the spring, summer and fall. I've thought about buying land in Two Rivers, and being migratory - maybe Hawaii or Panama for the winters.

Spent some time on Guam a few years ago, I could do that for a while. Odd ecology - great diving, no birds.

Outside the US, I like the Galway coast of Ireland, and we've recently been discussing New Zealand as an eventual retirement location. Capetown, South Africa is probably the most beautiful place on earth, too bad about their political nightmare.

I live in Flagstaff, AZ, and I would just about sell my soul to be able to sell out and move anywhere else. Its soo expensive,( a 35 year old doublewide on 1.5 acres appraised at over 250k!) and its called ,"Poverty with a view". It just seems like every thing is in shades of tan and grey.
I want to live in a place where its green and cool and a little bit isolated, like Sandpoint, Idaho. If I was young and single again, I would be headed overseas to hunt for a handsome Scottish farmer, so I could live on a small croft.

Sell that 250K place and move to the hills of Va. You could buy a place outright, no mortage and have money left to build lots of chicken coops and goose ponds.

Alaska, without a doubt! Wifey would never go for it so here we are in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are very happy here but Alaska definately for me.

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. I have a list of places to check out. I'm back in school to get a teaching certificate, and I have nothing holding me down after that. There are schools everywhere!!

The Pacific Northwest is very appealing to me, although I have never been there. I like rain and overcast and moderate temps. Actually, I really like Long Island too, except 1. no mountains and 2.taxes are overwhelming. Bogota, Colombia has temps around 70 year round, and Medellin, Colombia about 80 year round. If only the political situation was better....
