I was raised in New York, but we always went "home" to Minneapolis every summer to visit all our extended relatives. People were all so nice there, so different from cold-hearted northeasterners. For a long time, I was sort of angry that my parents left Minnesota.

All my extended relatives are still in Minnesota, and I'd love to finally be near them, but I honestly don't think I could take the long winters and short winter daylight. I'm a weather wimp.

A big part of my problem in relocating is that I am also a "weather wimp." Not too cold, not too hot, juuuuust right.

I'd live at Gleneden beach on the Oregon Coast. Nice small town with beautiful beach that never gets overcrowded during the warmer months.

Ahhhh....if only I had the means! If money were no issue, definitely one of the Hawaiian islands....the water there is just unbelievable, the waves awesome and the whole laid-back attitude is beneficial to my well-being.
But....when the kids get out of high school we are probably going to move back to Washington State. Lived in the Yelm/Olympia area for three years and absolutely regret moving back to our homestate of CA.....too many people and a majority of folks have wacky priorities. Would love to have a few acres and become as self-sufficient as possible....with solar power....very important to me. Okay...back to reality...

In the US I would pick the Tennessee Mountains. If out of the US I would like to live in Canada.

I simply love the Pacific Northwest. We travel (road trip) constantly and there are very few parts I don't enjoy.

The only other place which has "spoken" to me is in the hills east of Mt Shasta, up there near Medicine Hat.

I was raised in the Pacific Northwest, I love the rain the overcast and the lush green landscape and trees. Where do I live now, existing in the desert dreaming of how to xeriscape with artificial grass and cactus (not loving it) Someday I will make it back home but for now I visit family all over Washington from the west side(wet/lush) to eastern side(hot/dry) of the state. *edited to add/say the most important part there were no poisonous critters where I grew up, never encountered a tick or anything nasty.

I've thought of asking this myself. I live in the county I grew up in but wonder if there is someplace better out there. Especially when I see these large pieces of land some of you have. Anyplace I mention My SO says it's too hot, too much snow, too flat, etc.
