Fun hypothetical question with some learning potential! I've been waffling around a couple choices for my next breeding project, and was thinking to myself: there are a ton of colors out there with their own pros and cons. It made me wonder- if I could only choose ONE color to breed the rest of my days, what would I be happy with? So my question to all you breeders out there:

If you could only breed ONE color of chicken, regardless of breed, what would it be and why?

For me, I think it would probably choose Mille Fluer. It may be a pain to perfect, but it has been my favorite color since a child.

I'm no professional, but I love the array of Blue colors I got from my Blue Splash Orp x Jubilee Orp. I've got a Silver Grey to a deep Smokey blue with some bronze peeking out from the hackle. Another is all Blue with a faint darker Blue pencilling! So I've really enjoyed this outcome. As a side note, the roosters are absolutely HUGE!

I would probably breed silver wheaten (salmon) in blue/black/splash. I love the red and silver patterns that you can get with that coloration.

I’m new to owning chickens but so far my favorites are the EE because of all the great color combinations they come in.

But if I had to pick one I think I’d try and specialize in lavenders.
