If you could only have one laying hen, what would it be?

I'm only going to have one, want to make it a good one! Was really hoping I could get an INTERESTING (read: funky looking) good layer.... but I've decided the laying really is more important *sigh*

Any input from the masses is much appreciated

That was one right? LOL Also have to add you need more than one chicken. 2 at minimum. They get very lonely

All of the breeds that Sharon listed are very good layers. Though I do agree, chickens are flock animals, and will become very lonely if they don't have a friend.

Relax people, I AM getting a few more, but those are going to be for my viewing pleasure and general amusement
