If you had lots and lots of space and money to work with...

I don't have any excellent daydreams to share, but I just wanted to chime in that a walk in coop is really nice. I ended up with one more or less by accident, because of required set-backs the only place to put a coop was where there was already a concrete shed, so we just converted the shed into a coop. Its very nice to be able to walk in and do whatever I need to inside the coop. Also, although I live in an area where predators aren't much of an issue, its nice to know that one would need dynamite to get to my girls.

Ohhh boy lets see where would I start......

The coop(s) I'd have to have more then one, several house sized chicken coops built to look like a little community. Each coop would be heated/air conditioning and have an attatched conservatory type run that is also temperature controlled with a large grassy area for the chickens to free range in everyday. Each coop would house different breeds. The nest boxes would be hooked up to some sort of conveyor belt system to collect them everyday. Auto feeders/waterers and a huge utility tub and washroom area per coop as well as an area for storing feed, bedding, meds, and other supplies. Each coop would also have a top of the line air filtration system built into their coops to keep the air nice and clean and cut down the dust. Can't forget tv's and a stereo system as well as an intercom and a ton of workers I could hire to help out, a computer to keep all the data on the birds. Weekly lawn and garden service to come in once every few days. I'd have a live in vet on the property tending to the birds as well as any other animals i'd have. The ducks would have to have a lake which would also be stocked with fish and they would have to have their own coop right by the lake. I would have an indoor pond area that was heated for winter but connected to their coop. I could go on and on but I better just stop now lol

Well, I would have a large walk in coop with a concrete floor and a drain with a in the coop this way all you have to do to clean the floor is hose it down

and I would have several nesting boxes and a broody nesting area, a incubator cabinet and shelves to store feed and bedding and a inner coop area for brooding chicks and a fake tree in the coop and a roost and a large covered run so that no cats can get to them while they are playing, and I would have fans and a space heater so that they never get to hot or to cold.

There is a place around here that like an old trailer junk yard... I always think about how cool it would be to turn one into a chicken coop... I thought I was the only one who thought like that.....
