Alright ladies/gents, I'm 53 and remember the days of helping my Aunts in their kitchens baking and canning. I remember my Aunts, because my Mom's kitchen didn't quite have the gadgetry that they had. I have wanted to buy a Vintage Sunbeam Mixmaster (Model 12) for several years now. It reminds me so of my Aunt Helen who passed when I was in my early 20's from breast cancer. I used to spend my summer vacations helping her at her Diner and since she was a working lady, the garden harvest was on that list too. I finally found the mixer and all the additional processing parts I was looking for, having to make purchases from several shops on Ebay/Etsy. I was amazed to find the mixer with 2 Bakeglass bowls, juicer, beaters all at one stop for only $75 including shipping. I purchased, smiling all the way through the payment process then sat back and waited anxiously to get my little piece of history and nostalgia in the mail. The box arrived and I had my husband set it aside until later so I could thoroughly enjoy going through my box of goodies. I later opened the box and found my mixer with the base in 3 pieces, the glass bowls in pure shards. I just cried and snubbed around about it for at least 1/2 the day. I rarely cry, but I think this just hit too close to home. That happened about 9 days ago and this past Thursday I brought myself to order another one. I received it this morning and am happy to say, it is all in one piece and I am back to my old self (over this anyway). I love it and can't wait to use it.
