If you let your chickens free range in the garden will they eat up some of the bugs that pester your plants? My chicks already try to do that it's so funny. Anyway, do they forage for pretty much any bugs that they can fit in there mouth? just a question.

Yes, they will eat all of the bugs that pesterday your plants.
Then they will eat all of your plants.
Beware

haha I will make sure not to let them there for too long

Young chicks won't destroy your garden as badly as grown ones will, but they will try really really hard to! They love vegetables and flowers just as much as we do and will think they are at the buffet table if you let them in the garden!

and the plants that they don't eat they will use for back scratchers and pillows . . . you will be amazed at how quickly they will destroy your garden lol!

Took one, just ONE 16 week old leghorn to single handily remove every last green bit from 50+ bok choi plants that were about 3 weeks from harvest... All that was left were stems.

One of my ducks got out of her pen today and ate a small plot of lettuce seedlings. She ate those first before she started looking for bugs

Don't underestimate a chick's ability to destroy a garden. Two 6-week chicks are quite capable of eating everything down to a nub.

My girls did not eat it - but they certainly did enjoy plucking every single solitary bloom off my bleeding heart bush today - you know - the one that only blooms once a year

Long story short. Last year, I had a beautiful crop of tomatoes but was only able to eat about 5. Don't let them in...they will devore everything.
