My friends and I are "furries", or fans of anthropomorphic art. (note, if you've seen CSI and similar shows, don't take their definition, ew!) It can be anything from werewolves to "cat girls" to bugs bunny to monsters, etc. Anthro's are in everything! Every disney movie, logos, books (ever read the Rat's of NIMH or The Sight?). We like to come up with "fursonas" which is pretty much a character we create to kinda represent ourselves with, since we love making art. Dragons, rats, cats, dogs, whatever you want, or even a hybrid between them! It's fun to think about! What would YOU be?
I chose a peacock/wolf hybrid because I'm kinda cocky (I ain't gonna lie!) and love bright colors. I'm also feircely loyal and territorial. Here's some art of my character design by my friends.
Some furries make costumes of their fursonas and like to go out in public and prance around, the public loves it and get pictures taken, and the kids adore it too. We just love having fun and being a kid playing make believe, sometimes.

At the furry convention in San Jose last month, we raised $40,502 in just the Art Show sales! We make a bunch of big donations to nonprofit organizations that help animals.
