If you won the Powerball or Mega Millions Lotto.......

Now, my husband would probably want to pick up and buy a big parcel of land somewhere.. I'd consider that, but unless it is billions of dollars, I would want to keep my job.

So, answering the question on what I would do if we didnt share that decision:/

First.. Build a garage for my husband. And buy him a GTO to go in it.

Then, a woodstove and some solar panels to cut electric costs.
After that, put some aside to invest.
Then, addition to the house, new kitchen, another bathroom, aviary for the birds.

I think I'd buy each of the kids a brand new vehicle. Or I might skip the new vehicle and buy a small starter house for one kid, and do serious renovation to the other ones house.

2 of the coops would get torn down and rebuilt- I'd have water and electric run back there. I'd fence in the whole back yard so the dog didn't have to be chained. And get professional landscaping, with large full grown trees to block the view of the neighbors.

Depending on how much the lotto is, I'd like to pay for one child to finish college, and the other to get further education of his choosing.

ETA Oh, I guess I should pay off existing bills.. After the house addition..

I was watching the news this morning as they interviewed one of the latest lottery winners. This gal was a security guard who rarely played the lottery, perhaps every six months she said. That day she had meant to buy a powerball ticket, but somehow ended up with a mega millions ticket. Several days later a coworker had picked up the newspaper and was checking her numbers when the guard decided to check the ticket in her purse. She found that it was a $54 million winner.

The first thing I would do would be set aside my tithing.
-After that, I'd be happy with 10 completely fenced acres, farmhouse & barn or 2.
-Pay off the bills
-BUY MORE CRITTERS!
-Help my family (trust funds for the younger members)
-Donate to cancer research & juvenile diabetes
-Invest
-Maybe have a summer home in the mountains

Don't know that I'd quit my job...I really do love it and I only have 11 more years to put in for a decent retirement. Quitting would actually depend on how MUCH I won. With my job, it is highly suggested that you retire if you win a large amount of money (I just don't know what the deciding $ is).

4) pay off Mom and Dad's house/cars/etc

5) Start a scholarship or something for 'Suddenly Single Parents' ( I had a hard time paying for school & getting on my feet after my divorce. I want to help others avoid that)

Give my mom half. I always give her half of any money I win. I would love to give her a few million!

Pay off every bill we had.

Then I would do all the things we dreamed about doing around the house...deck,garage,game room, out with the septic and in with an pool. And ofcourse a playhouse and swingset for the kids, and awesome coop and run for the hens.

And since dh would be home 24/7 I would get him in shape so he wouldn't have so many health issues.I can only do so much nagging him everyday over the phone!
