1 bsl auddenly died:hit. It had mucus bubbling around its beak:barnie. Now, an EE chick is showing the same symtoms!!!!

IDK if I should euthanize it so it does not infect the others, or to quarentine it till it gets better.

Danke,

I would, at the very least, remove it from the other chicks and put it in quarantine to observe it. Then clean everything in the brooder.

Is the mucus the only symptom it has? How is its behavior/poo, etc.?

How old are these chicks? Definitely take this one out and clean out their waterer thoroughly with boiling water and clean the rest of the brooder as well. I don't know much about diseases with tiny babies that sound like what you describe. Hopefully, somebody else with sufficient knowledge will come along to help.

They are 4 days old, they are on medicated feed. The chick cannot stand, and it keeps its eyes closed most of the time.

I have had a chick hatch like that I could not decide what to do, my instinct was to cull it but wanted to give it a chance, it died on its own in 24 hours. If yours is not perking up it will probably die on its own as well. Sorry!

This baby chick can only walk about two steps and then stops and sits. She does not open her eyes so she cannot see the food or water. She drinks when I dip her beak and she pees, no poop since no food. She made it through the night and slept with about 6 other chicks around her.

Hello-- We had one of our chicks get weak and sick looking- after a little research thought it might be "pasted up" (dried poop blocking vent). put liquid dish soap on her bum, rubbed it in , washed off with water, put her back in the incubator. within a minute she pooped, big, dark, and gross. She was fine after that.
