We lived in IL for 8 years. We have been in Iowa a little over a year, but DH grew up in Crystal Lake and left IL when he was in the USAF and after he got out in '98, we moved back there....to Wood Dale where we rented an apartment for a year until we found our house to buy in West Dundee. Now if we could just sell that house....

I"m brand new to the group

I'm just outside Gibson City, IL. Looking forward to finding someone in my area to possibly purhcase chickens from or split future orders with.

My name is Terri, soon to be hubby and I purchased a 102 year old farm house just this past Nov. Of course the first thing we did was order chickens. We currently have seven Buff Orp (5 pullets, two roos), Five white leghorn pullets and five cornish cross meat birds who will probably never see the inside of a freezer...LOL

Our gals aren't laying yet but I think the leghorns will be soon. I noticed my Buff roos were taking a fond interest in one of the meat birds who was taking a nap and minding his own business

So it wont be much longer before we are once again gathering eggs.
