Illinois...

@cavemanrich and @Molpet and I think @Faraday40 be careful. Some protest activities maybe in your area. Hopefully the anarchists dont show up.

They totally ruined my day here. Everything I had planned didn't happen because of the looters (I'm in Tinley Park where it borders Orland) including starting to work on my coop. I found someone to help me build it but he ended up in the middle of it all in the city which I am quite sure is not how he wanted to spend the day. After all the COVID crazy and we finally started to get things going again but now this. My heart breaks for the people losing their businesses and our police and those poor dispatchers who are going to need a drink tonight if they ever get to go home!

So glad you stayed safe.

Our Best Buy in Downers Grove was looted yesterday. All the area stores shut down. There were incidents (fires, looting, riots) to the N, S, E, and W of us but thankfully uneventful here.

This was not protesting, this was an orchestrated attack on our country.
Long sleepless night.
Yes they said most of the people arrested were from out of state.
Peaceful protesters were trying to protect cops being assaulted. Fires started to draw cops so uhauls could be loaded up by looters.

I wonder how many of those involved get the virus and will expect help

There were some instances of peaceful protestors protecting cops and even bringing people to the police for looting.
But others trying to burn churches and historical buildings and national monuments. That is military tactic, no protest.

Another crazy effect of last night is the grocery stores are beginning to go bare again. Not most items, but people are stocking up to stay at home again. I happened to go to Aldi and it was pretty crowded this morning.
I was going to go to Aldi this week... guess I will wait LOL
