Illinois...

I recently saw that Guinea fowl will eat ticks. I don't know if they would live with the chickens or if they would stay?
We briefly had some guineas that my husband picked up from stock and field once, back when it was big r. Definitely not like chickens or ducks. First time outside, they walked along gobbling up stuff and making their chirping noises. They kept walking....and walking.....never to be seen again.

So, I got my new incubator all set up and ready to go. Cant wait to hatch something!!

That's the one I want. Just like what @Faraday40 has, right? I'm so jealous.

Yup. I'm anxious to try it out! I have another friend who just got started in chickens. I recommend this one to her based on @Faraday40 review of it. She now has two! She loves it as well!
I only have one NR360
..... but I do have multiple incubators

They include: (oldest to recent)
An old 1990s Hovabator - with modifications
A homemade coolerbator - manual with light bulbs & computer fan
A Nurture Right 360
DS’s 4H project = cooler-bator with digital, automatic thermostat

I also have about 5 incubators that I use when hatching at schools (not mine, though).

For a beginner I highly recommend the NR360. It’s very easy to set up and maintain, small footprint, holds 22 eggs, and the chicks can be easily viewed at hatch. There are some things I would change, but overall a good value.

I cut a circular piece of foam/ rubber mesh shelf liner to go on top of floor and under turner. It helps the eggs turn smoothly and adds grippy surface for little chicks’ clumsy feet. The liner was especially helpful for the small quail and serama eggs. If added before the eggs you won’t have to do anything but add extra water on day 18.
