Illinois...

Can any of you help me identify these guys? I believe 2 are Splash Ameraucana. And I want to say that I have 2 that are Lavender Ameraucana but I’m not 100% convinced because there are so many other lavenders or blues they could be. The black one with gold like coming through, started off originally black, with some white on the chest. That one I have no luck with. I would appreciate any help at all! Even clues to help narrow it down. I have done some looking online but there isn’t much I have been able to find when it comes to feet/leg color or combs…straight or pea comb, etc.

The one lavender/blue has the beard and puffy cheeks, which makes me think Ameraucana.
Ameraucana is a name that hatcheries use. It is a misspelling of the name Araucana, which is a blue egg laying bird that is rumpless and has beards, muffs and tufts. They are rare here, but there are true breeders here in America. You have easter eggers and will most likely lay blue or green eggs. Number 3 looks blue, 4 splash, 5 black I think.

Well I’m going off what their website says as being true Ameraucana. And considering they have discontinued the Araucana due to pour hatch rate and infertility issues and so on and so forth.

Edit: adding they have Easter Eggers separate. But to each their own.

Also #5 is a black sex link, as I seeked help in another thread as well.

Easter eggers also can include CCL.. The first C stands for "Crested,, Cream Legbar."

I don't know about Cackle, but I know Meyer has Ameraucanas that are actual Ameraucanas and not mis-spelled EEs. I have an Ameraucana, an EE and a CCL from Meyer and they are definitely legit. I had a Lav Ameraucana chick but she didn't make it so I am not sure what she would have looked like at that age.

I find that people are so used to TSC and RK lying about their Americanas that nobody trusts anyone anymore. But the major hatcheries seem to have stopped selling Americanas and now label them Ameraucana or EE appropriately.

Absolutely! I did the research on the Ameraucana and through Cackle before I even labeled any of them as such. And that is only due to everyone just saying they are Easter Eggers. And I get why everyone automatically say they are EEs due to TSC. But I refuse to go there. And not that anyone going there for their chickens are wrong or anything. I have just seen a lot of stories I wouldn’t want to be part of. And I did consider it at first but just thought a Hatchery was the better option.

Edit: I also wanted to add that I do have EEs. The first picture is the most recent. The second is a little older picture of both the EEs.
