Illinois...

East of Peoria. 20 miles about.

You must be very close to me. I'm 20 miles NorthEast of Peoria. (Metamora area) Welcome! I'm also pretty new to the chickens...Got my first hens last November. I'm at 18 hens and 1 roo...along with a brand new baby chick that one of my broody hens hatched this past week. I also have 32 eggs from my own girls in an incubator right now, on day 3/4. Hope to have at least some luck with that! Good luck with yours! Eager to hear what you get out of your hatch!

I live 22 miles SSE of Urbana, in the town-that-time-forgot, "Longview." I have 5 acres, 3 horses, and 20 chickens, in 2 groups. I've crossed out RIR's, and my current 15 layers are RIR x Welsummer/EE and RIR x Welsummer/Rosecomb RIR. Some eggs are brown, some are speckled brown, some are light olive and the others are darker olive and the olive eggs are sky blue inside. I get 8-13 eggs/day, and DH and I incubate new birds every year.
