Illinois...

I have to add, END OF FLIES! Even before I started with chickens, I have had a fly problem. My neighbor has a mulberry tree
x2. His tree drops them onto our garage roof. 1/2 roll to the front where they stain our cement driveway & the other 1/2 roll to the backyard where they hit our patio & quickly become free chicken treats. The only minor complaint is having to clear the driveway of mulberries before allowing the kids to ride their bikes. Otherwise, we lay down a vinyl tablecloth & collect the berries. (Mulberry/Blueberry muffins & ice cream toppings are 2 favs.)

@chickendreams24 These pics are for you. I'm pretty sure the lav & the larger black are males & the smaller black is a female. Here are the broody mommies female below. She's very sweet & well guarded by 2 mommies & 2 brothers. Larger black male = an true adventurer & loves to fly up onto things. Lav male
Thank you!!! I love them!!! They're darling!! And a pullet!!! Yay!!!! Can't wait! Hopefully this week will be rainy and we can manage a get together. Sorry things have been nuts and I've been super busy. Had a hatch going lost 8 eggs the day before and during lockdown. Ugh. :( also had a chick pip in the wrong spot and puncture her yolk sac. What a mess! I've no clue how she's survived all of this as before I was able to assist the egg began to stink. A clear sign of bacteria. I'm trying to stay guarded but I'm feeling a little hope for her.
Here's Opps Pic below shows her lemon-yellow undertones "Why did you ask if I was in your garden?" Here's her hatchmate - who still needs a name. Any good ideas? Brick :love Marshmallow (One of Trouble's chicks from June. Already larger than Brick.) Her sister Muppet - who's even bigger than Marshmallow! Today the chickens started hanging out IN the trees instead of under them. Although I know they're birds, this really surprised me for some reason.
I think you should name her Penny!!! Lol she's beautiful! They all are Brick is such a looker!

Same here, except all 4 sides of my garage gets hit. It use to drive me crazy when my children were younger. The kids would walk in the house and the wood floors stained, garage door dotted with purple, and the maggots uggg. The flies kill me most of all. This was the first year some of the chickens ate them, otherwise they pretty much left them alone, even though I was hopeful.

Had to run and grab my phone for this photo op. It was just to perfect with them sitting on the pot looking adorable. By the way, this pair is available.

Awesome pics! Brick and Muppet are great but the mystery white is gorgeous. Have you named her?

Too bad I can't have them!

Yes. I called her Oopps (because of the unexpected color) & DD called her Daisy because she looks kind of white with a hint of yellow. Her official name is now "Oopsie-Daisy"

I'm thinking of calling mine Sugar but I haven't fully decided yet. Also I'm thinking Oops-Daisy may he larger than my mystery white one.
