Yep, girl on top and boy on the bottom, first time hatching them.. I just needed a pullet to breed with my silver laced. Then when a breed them next spring, I will have sex link chicks. Pullets will be silver laced and cockerels will be all gold laced.

I also tried to get a green egg layer and threw in some of my eggs. My marans didn't begin laying until right after the olive egger cockerel left. But I threw in a couple of her eggs anyways just hoping, but they were clear. I only had 1 CCl egg and 1 Leghorn egg. The CCL egg hatched a cockerel and the leghorn I have to wait and see. So will definitely be rehoming the CCL X and the gold laced orp.

If you want to hatch more, I believe my hens' eggs are now fertile. The male Orp has been mating for a couple weeks now. I want to see what his chicks will look like, but I'm keeping my incubator in the attic to prevent temptation. I'd gladly donate some eggs for some pics of the results.

Hahaha, no thank you. I am actually lending my large incubator to a young man for his 4H project. I tried to get him to take both incubators, LOL. So, please don't tempt me. You know I have very little self control. I have 20 chickens at the moment. I have to rehome a total of 3 cockerels that I know for sure. Next spring, I will probably rotate out the leghorn, she will be over 3 years old next spring. Although, she has laid an egg every day since I have had her. So we will see. Your Roos are so handsome! Can't wait to see your hatches next year. That Bielefelder is huge! Have you weighed him?

If anyone is interested in Icelandic chickens, PM me.
I have a couple of beautifully mottled, rose combed and one single combed cockerels that need homes. Also a bluish wheaten looking cockerel with rose comb. They are loud crowers, so not a good choice if that is a problem where you live.
