Illinois...

I have only had one broody so far and its my sizzle. We let her try to hatch 5. We got 3 but only 2 lived. I've been leaving eggs and extra day to hope one of the others go broody but no such luck.

So I say that and my Partridge Brahma goes broody... Lol. Let's see what she can do. She's already far more aggressive and protective than my showgirl sizzle was. Lol.

@jnckids Very pretty girl! Hope she stays broody for you.

I am trying to find homes for some of my bantam cochins, so if anyone is interested
.
1 Silver laced hen(2yrs old) and silver laced split black bantam cochin hen and 2 cockerels (9 months). And a frizzled mottled bantam cochin cockerel (9 months old). Pairs or quad only, will not separate. Pm for more info.

Live the fizzle. I have a naked neck fizzle cochin bantam.

Have you tried craigslist? Where are you located? I have to older hens that we've aloud to be freeloaders... We really should get rid of them. Lol

@jnckids Just posted on craiglist, and put on all the FB pages also. Just covering all bases, thank you though. When I was just starting out (4 years ago, ) Faraday told me to post my extras on Craiglist, which was my first time posting something for sale. She has helped me, as have many others on this page, from the beginning.

@Chicagoclucker this batch that I am letting my broody sit on will be the first that I post. How well didn't the sell? Especially if the are "barnyard mutts?" I assumed I might be giving them away.

Around here one can quickly sell cute barnyard mix chicks for $2-5 each. If you know it's female = more. If you know it's male = free to anyone who will take them.

The bigger problem that comes along is people wanting you to guarantee it's a female .... or taking over an hour of your time to select 2 chicks. I also have made arrangements to donate extra chicks to people we know or friends' families. That's nice because we can see pics from time to time. I would not recommend posting "free chicks" on Craigslist. You'd get all kinds of crazy replying.

I need your help! I saw your post on Craiglist, but I can't find mine, lol. Do you list them under Farm and Garden? I listed mine there and I got the confirmation email that my ad is up and when I click on the link from my email, it pops up my ad, but if I just go on Craiglist and search chickens or chicks, they aren't there. HELP! This happened before, but I don't remember how I fixed it.
