How long has it been stuck?
Is that the yolk sac hanging from the shell in the picture?

I am not sure if it is the yolk or waste. This was immediately after hatch. She drug the shell around for a few minutes and then it fell off. This is my first hatch so I am not sure what I am looking at.

I was going to say give the chick some time to detach itself. I've come to take a very hands off approach to hatching. Incubation is important to monitor and intervene to maintain moisture and heat levels accurately, but I leave hatching up to the chicks. Nature knows best.

Help I have a baby in the incubator who is attached to shell. Does she have a chance? What should I do see picture

I see things have worked themselves out (which is usually the case).

That was basically the umbilical cord which tends to get cut during the hatch or shortly after as the chick crawls around. If it did stay attached for an hour or more and was clear or dried out, then a snip would help. The only reason to even bother cutting it is the rare chance that it could snag on something and cause a herniated navel. The yolk gets absorbed into the abdomen last as the chick positions and pips, so sometimes if the chick hatches too quickly, the navel area may not be completely closed.

It's an amazing process.

You may need to introduce the food by placing it's beak right into the food. Also, blending the food to a powder helps the first few days with quail chicks.
Is there a waterer in there?

To start quail out, I've always done soaked feed in a cap/lid. That way I know they get food & water. After 1-2 days they get the crumbles and learn to use chicken nipples, but when I put the soaked feed down they attack it. Unfortunately, there's no competition. I put its beak in & it also pecked a little off my finger.

It's name is 'Zoom.'

So many fun vacation options! Has anyone ever seen the Northern Lights? A friend told me she can see it sometimes see it in WI. (rural EuClaire area) Of course when we visited it rained, so that's still on my bucket list.

I have seen one time in castle rock Wisconsin. It is cool but very disorienting.

11 of the 13 eggs that were fertile hatched. One zipped by did not make it out and it has been Zipped over 24 hours and no movement so I assume she passed. The other that did not hatch never pipped. I will leave them in for another day or just in case. The other 11 are all moving and eating. I have not seen all of them drink but they seem fine.

I believe one of them maybe from my black sex link. I did not think she was laying anymore as she was from my 1st set of chicks and is almost four. I had heard hybrids only lay for the first two years. The only black chickens I have are my sex link and a barred rock. The baby has a dark beak so I assume that it could not be from the barred rock.

Not much chicken stuff happened today, but I did go buy a used Jeep Grand Cherokee. The DMV is closed so I had to get plates and registration through the currency exchange. They charged an extra $85 in fees, which is over 25% extra. I was not happy about that, but had no choice unless I wanted to mail paperwork and payment in and wait until who knows when to get my plates.
