We got some very exciting non-chicken news today. My oldest (Jr in HS) is hoping to go to the US Naval Academy. He has applied for their summer STEM camp the last 2 years and got in both years (they get thousands of applicants and only take 500) but in 2020 it cancelled because of COVID and in 2021 they held it virtually. That means he didn't get to stay on campus in dorms, didn't get to do morning drills and experience the yard and all the rest of the reasons you do these things. Rising Seniors are no longer eligible for STEM camp there but do Summer Seminar which is more military and less academic but still has both involved and it's 6 days on campus. We have been holding our breath and praying and today he got his acceptance!!!!! The seminar is in June and he and I are going there in April because he was invited to do a campus visit (they stay in a dorm with midshipmen and I booked a B&B nearby so I can browse Annapolis). He is so hopeful that he gets in and each of these little steps brings it closer and closet. I couldn't be more proud of my little Captain America. This is his dream and I am so happy for him because if it works out, he'll be set for life! #mamabrag
