flip him on his back in the palm of your hand. use your other hand to hold him still. wait til he stops moving. then remove the hand holding him. if he trys to get up almost immediately then it a roo. if it lays on its back for a little while (more than a few seconds) its a hen. It does work and for one days to weeks old.
