It’s nice to meet you!

If you can handle baby ducks, you can handle baby chickens. I LOVE my runner ducks, who are the MESSIEST as babies and even as adults don't want to be handled. They will come when I call (because they recognize me as the giver of food) and most will eat out of my handle as long as I don't attempt any other touching. They are good egg producers and comical entertainment -- better than TV!

Chicks are still messy but much less so because they don't have the same love affair with water. Some of my adult chickens will never be friendly, but most are touchable and a few like cuddles.

Welcome to the group and good luck with whatever you decide (I'm pulling for your husband to get his chickens)! And, BTW, I'm starting to paint floral designs on stepping stones because I'm trying to be creative. Be patient with your painting efforts. Even imperfect work is worthwhile.

Welcome to BYC! We're happy to have you with us! Your ducklings are so cute! :love Be patient with them a bit. I think ducks take a little more time to trust you, but if you keep trying you'll be able to tame them. Good luck, and have fun!! :)
