[Break an Egg]

My hen hatched some eggs, all but 1. She went to bed with her chicks and in the morning I saw that lone egg was kicked out of the nest, so I took it inside. I was wanting to open the egg up to see what was going on inside, so I took the end of a fork and hit the egg with it. Well, the hen knew what she was doing because when I hit that egg, it kinda blew and green stuff ran out, all smelling terrible.

I couldn't get the smell out of my house for over an hour.

That's the last time I mess with any eggs that my chickens don't even want to touch.

I just cracked one that had a blood ring in it, and I took it outside, for this reason.

I'd just go with whatever the hen thinks about it next time

is right..... I was terrified to open up my quitters. Thankfully they didn't smell.

Seal them into a Ziploc before you break them, and do it outside just in case... that smell is *nasty*.
