Today is day 20 for the three eggs that are in the incubator. One got tossed early (day 6, no veins appearing), one got tossed day 16 (blood ring) leaving the 3 remaining eggs from my Black Sex Link hen and her Cockoo hubby. The two I've previously hatched from them are lovely kids...
This is my 3rd time hatching eggs, and I've been so cool, calm and collected until I just went in and looked with my little flashlight through the pane. OMG... I see little pin holes starting in two of the three eggs and my adrenaline is sky rocketing.

Anyone else close to hatch day?

I'll be right behind ya (again) I have two EE eggs, two Beilefelder eggs, and 2 more from the same hen going in after I clean up the mess from this bunch.

Oh, and my BO pullet that just started laying 2 weeks ago is sitting on some eggs... she'll come out to eat, and then right back in the bucket she goes... I'm going to let nature take it's course with her.

Well, she was sitting on two... so I snuck a few 'fresh ones' in there when she was grabbing some grub.. she went back and laid down on them all. She rejected two that were covered in yolk from one that got broken.. I thinks she's still not accustomed to the bucket, but she no longer tries turning around in it so we may be safe now.

that sounds great, good luck with it.

I am still on day 18, I've had ants in my pants since the beginning and it should be too early but I could have sworn I heard a peep an hour ago. Now I am telling myself it must have been something else and my mind is playing tricks on me.

I have 12 eggs in the incubator on day 20 1/2.
3 have little cracks and 1 a little pip in the shell. But the one with the pip hasn't made any progress since last night :-(.
For the first time bought some eggs ogg ebay and i would be happy if half of them came out. All 12 seemed in good development on day 14!! So we left it and let it go.
We already hear one of the chicks chirping in the egg... excited!
The pics are a little blurry because of the high moisture content in the incubator. The incubator we use is a fully redneck modified chinese production! ;) We drilled holes and water channels to control temp and humidity better. So far we have been very lucky with our modifications and have made4 more. Now we can exactly control humidity on 54-55% and temp on 37.4-37.6 What has been crazy accurate even in the winter with colder room temperatures. Than eggs from ebay, managed by USPS people and still 8 in development and 4 in hatching...??? I can't believe it! We'll see

I also had pips Day 20...do make note of the time so you know you've waited long enough for them to zip on their own. I"m exhausted - after assisting 2 stuck zippers at midnight - both made it...but a large chick who finished busting free this morning is weak but trying to do what the others do. I had to rescue her from a chilly shallow water dish a little while ago. She was too weak to get out - and it was only 1 inch sides on the dish. We are on day 22, and just moved 9 to the Brooder this morning. Probable quitters, including 1 i repaired day 1, 1 and one i found on its side oozing yolk from a crack. Several Isbars are among the quitters. Do they have different needs than others, especially for lockdown humidity? I'll candle and maybe float tonite. Doubtful any kept developing after looking lke day 8 eggs on day 17, but it will be interesting. Eggtopsy tomorrow i think. Happy to have 9 adorable fluffers! Looks like you will get 2 or 3! Good luck!
