This site has been awesome for info so thank you! I'm a new chicken mom to 4. Two australorpes, an easter egger and a Wyandotte. They are a little over 4 weeks old and I am more than ready to put them in their coop! Thanks for all your info!

Welcome to BYC!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! That's lovely to hear you have found BYC so helpful already. Those are some lovely breeds you have there. I know just what you mean about being ready for them go out to the coop, especially if your brooding in the house. At four weeks they can start to become a little dusty!! Not long now and they should be fully feathered and ready to go out to the coop.

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

Right now they're in our unfinished bathroom in a Rubbermaid container. It was like having a newborn last night, they kept waking me up!

Maybe they were too cold - in a brooder their temp should be about 80 at floor level- for this age. If they sleep piled up on each other it means they are cold. Do you have a heat lamp for them?

They should be sleeping at night...is there a light on that's keeping them awake?

Hope you have your coop all ready for them, they should be ready to go out soon!
