Such a cute picture! Love the exressions on the chicks' faces.
Glad you're enjoying keeping them.
You probably do need to have the heat lamp on all the time when they're still so young, but it's ok, if you have a red light (is it red? Looks red in the pic ) they should be able to sleep fine. Ours did good with a white light too
You could try raising the waterer off the ground if they are kicking bedding into it.

I was thinking of raising the water bowl up I didnt want to make it too difficult for them to get to it. But I just realized they may like flying up or jumping up to the water dish. I was also thinking of pulling out the plastic tray that has the bedding on it and lifting the crate onto my grass in the back yard so they can safely scratch and play in the sunshine for a couple hours. My only concern is mites or parasites. We are feeding medicated starter feed so is that not a concern I should have?
