Hi All,
My name is Nate and I live in southeast Nebraska. I signed up for BYC because I'll soon be owned by a dozen Buckeye chicks. I've been looking at BYC for about the last six months as I've been piecing together some education about chickens. I've never had chickens before but am very interested in having eggs from free range birds so I'm diving in. I'm also trying to help my three kids understand where their food comes from. I've been gardening for the last several years and backyard chickens seems like the next logical step to food independence. Plus I think my kids are really going to like watching and interacting with chickens. I'm big on heritage breeds and fell in love with the history and beauty of the Buckeye breed. I love the site and all of the information found here.
