I think they bond to who ever feeds them. My chickens will follow me to the point Im afraid I will step on them but my older son they kind of keep a distance from because he doesnt feed them or interact with them very often. You may want to ask the owners what type of feed they give them and where they get it and if they ever had a sickness thru the flock. Oh and how old they are, just a nice thing to know. Thanks everyone! I appreciate the help. I will definitely contact the current owners and ask them to leave extra food and water and all the info they can, as unfortunately I'm coming from California and don't know anyone around there yet to ask to look in on them. And then I will ply those chickens with treats! For the Portlander out there: The current owners do have a special permit to have the 10 chickens. We'll have to make sure that carries over to us or apply for a new one.
