I know, I know, I once again shamelessly stole the idea from Pinterest. Isn't that what Pinterest is for? Haha
As a graphic designer...i hate pintrest. I work for a printer and frequently get people that show up with ideas from pintrest or something they bought off etsy. All I can think is i could do something better than this garbage and WHY :barnie

Omg so cute! You must be a very good painter!
Hahaha thanks. Not to brag, but I actually am a pretty good artist...and I used to make a decent living as a portrait artist and art teacher....but I hate painting because I'm such a perfectionist, striving for total realism...so making chicken art has actually been really fun and liberating for me...to make it look messy and folksy on purpose! I can knock one of these off in half an hour and it's all just doing it with little planning or perfectionism. I think it's been really good for me.

Ditto. I find Im less critical if i make it myself. Otherwise i would spend a fortune at hobby lobby on basic crap. I just go there for ideas:D

I can totally understand that. For me it has just been a matter of not needing to reinvent the wheel. I'm sure now that I've made everything cute I found already, I'm going to start venturing into unpinterested territory....that's what I did with my coop sign (not that it's super original either). I think this was a sort of training phase haha.

If I were hiring a graphic designer though I would totally let you design something amazing and special! That's the whole point!

Ooh...and I don't know that this counts as coop decor, but I finally got around to making myself an egg apron (now that I'm getting a whopping two eggs a day, haha!)

It will fit 18 eggs total plus the top pocket which I use to collect feathers or to put my cell phone in.

All have a total of 19 or 20 layers in about another month or two, so this should be exactly enough for me.

It looks a little lopsided on the pattern because I've got a few weeks eggs and whatnot in it hahaha

Oh, and I made curtains for the two big side nesting boxes. The white picket fences are on hinges and can open or close in different arrangements to block off or provide access to the nesting boxes as needed.

Haha ignore Roxie in the front there, apparently she's doing a self assessment to see if she is ready to check out the nesting boxes yet! :lau

This goes above the door to the run. I'm also working on making a feather wreath for on the door itself.

On the side of run, outside, I also finally made a name sign with all of my chickies' names and breeds on it. I just have to add little signs next to the roosters and the hens that are laying to acknowledge their status, hahaha.

haha! 'Cal-egg-fornia' So cute! I can't imagine trying to name all my chicks..They look so much alike! I do have names for my first ones- Lizzy, Mr. Rooster and Betty 1-4... not very creative! Betty was my first Barred Rock chick that would greet me as soon as I came to the brooder-very curious and trusting-fly on my shoulder and start picking at my hair. I could tell her apart at first because she had a mark on one of her toes but...it went away and I couldn't find her again so all the Barred Rocks became 'Betty'. Mr. Rooster I new was a roo from day one..and he earned his name! Lizzy is my personal favorite(sshhh don't tell the others) she is such a sweet Silver Duckwing OEGBs with the cutest little eggs. My very first pick, she just had this independence about her..Her sister Izzy was snatched up a week ago:( She started staying more with the flock after that-like she took her sisters place..sad but I think best for her, I always worried her roaming away from them...wow! Sorry I rambled on!
