Great to hear. Major flooding up by my Dad's house... that'd be outside Little Rock. Genius brother and friend decided driving in that would be a good idea... luckily Pop was able to pull them out when they were washed off the road.

UPDATE*****

A couple of days before the storm my mother had fallen of the bed. her leg was bothering her but she complains about her legs bothering her a lot. I told her to make a doctor's appointment.

This weekend I learned she did not make a doctors appointment and saterday her leg was really beginning to swell. She down played it to me though, and I didn't really check her leg.

Shortly after I made my post about being alive, I saw my mother's leg. It was really swollen with red streaks. She wanted to wait till monday to make an appointment, i wanted her to go to the hospital.

I made her call my sister, who is an RN, and my sister told her to get to the hospital.

after a couple hours of vagueing, we arrived at the ER at 9 pm.

They admitted my mother with infection, cellulitus and a possible blood clot. I have been up at the hospital with her all night. I came home only to pay bills, care for the animals and take care of basic chores then I need to go back to the hospital. I don't know when I'll have access to the computer again.

The hospital is over flowing from the tornadoes, and the only bed available was one in the surgery wing.

I haven't slept much since wed, and I'm afraid it is really catching up with me.

We were going to volunteer this week, but I don't know if we're going to be able to. Mom will be disappointed. She was looking forward to helping out.

Cripes. Glad to hear you are OK. Hope your Mom gets well soon.

Please stop and take a short breather for youself. Don't do anyting for a couple of hours, take a nap, meditate, take hot bath (if you still have power) or something. Get plenty of sleep at night. Don't stay at the hospital. You'll catch something or get too run down due to lack of sleep.

The clean up will be there after your breather.

I agree go home and get some sleep while your mom is sleeping at night. Make sure the nurses' station has your cell # just in case and go home and do just the essentials and then crash and get you some rest. If you keep it up you will end up sick and in the hospital your self and that won't do you or your mom any good. You can volunteer once she gets out of the hospital as I don't think the need of volunteers is gonna go away for awhile.

Now that makes me cry!!! What a wonderful thing to do MFB!!!

Only fair... we've had strangers here helping up clean up all last week after the tornadao hit us, and we didn't get ANYTHING like as bad as North Alabama. People helping people is what makes the world go 'round...
