I'm almost afraid to go into my quail pen.

I've got two 4x4x4 foot pens. Love them! I can step in them, though I can't stand up, of course, with the four foot height. It's no problem to take care of things in there. I can reach everything inside the pen on a daily basis without actually climbing in, though the corner that is caddycorner from the door can be a bit difficult. I keep a basket or something else in that corner, so that if they lay eggs there, I can reach across, grab the basket, and pull it toward me. Otherwise, I can clean, etc. easily enough.

My preference is to have 3+ square foot per bird.

So far, most of them have that (except for the teeny babies).

My conure rides on the vaccum cleaner. Even the quail chicks love the sound of it.

Ditto here guys

I brood my chicks in the basement about 4 feet from my central vac., I was for ever moving them when ever I would fire it up. One day, I forgot and ran down to the basement for something. I looked over at them, and they were just going about their business, eating sleeping, etc..
If I turn on or off the wrong light, they go crazy, but the central vac. Shop vac., dust buster, doesn't seam to phase them on bit.

One of my newest roos is too bold for his own good. He chirps his little roo chirp and then runs over to attack my feet when I walk in. He's my biggest roo with the nicest color. Silly thing. He gets so worked up and makes so much noise, I think it's hilarious actually. Now one of my EW's is starting it as well, though he's not as brave as my Brown roo.

If he were a chicken I wouldn't be so keen to laugh, but since he's only a few inches tall I'm not really concerned about getting hurt.

I've named him, Killer.

It's funny how brave they are despite the size difference.

My other coturnix Flush when I walk in, but they are begining to get better since Killer started warming up to me.
