I'm an outlaw... and I aint going down without a fight

Dont forget you can petition the board for an exception or variance, citing domesticated farm animals on similar LOCAL properties. Therefore what you are asking is not stretching the realm of reason. Tehy may come back with a rediculous number like 4 chickens, B/C THEY only have 4 cows or some such. Stay iwth reason, and dont get too hot under the collar, if things go against you for a time. Usually persistance and reason will pay off.

Someone said earlier that they were allowed one chicken...it's like my dad often stated: "The inmates are running the asylum." We live on nearly two acres in a rural area in Kansas, and while we can legally have a horse, we are not allowed to have ANY chickens. How do you deal with that kind of insanity?

I am curious how everything turned out for you. My husband and I have wanted chickens for a couple of years, and are just now ready to take the plunge. Sorta. One of my neighbors wouldnt care if we had chickens, but Im certain my other would. We have less than two acres, in Leoni Township. And are in a No chicken zone. lol However, the township said we can have as many dogs as we want. (we have one) And my husband responded that Dog eggs don't taste very good. lol

Im not much of a Law Breaker, I just want my family to have good eggs. How did everything turn out for you?

Thank You,
Ann
