IM antibiotic for sudden onset respiratory probs?

What kind of intramuscular injectable antibiotic should be used for chickens, especially with sudden onset respiratory problems? Do you inject into the breast muscle? Also, what gauge and length of needle do you use? I want to get some from the feed store to keep on-hand b/c I lost a couple of chickens a few weeks back.

Tylan50, Spectam, and Gallimycin in the breast muscle. I use 3/4" needle. I split the shot and give half on each side.
