I'm at war with racoons.

Well one is very serious, it's goes from the back of her neck all the way between her wings. I can see her neck bones. I can suture it back but with it being a bite Im thinking to wait a few days to see if she survives, plus I want her to drain, which I could put a drain in if it comes down to it. I just don't want to create any additional shock for now. The other one also has a deep bite near her wing but doesn't go as far up her neck and a bite above her tail. She I believe might make it for sure.
It's difficult for me to tell without seeing, but with keeping it clean, using an antibiotic ointment, and daily betadine/warm water soaks, it's pretty amazing how birds can heal. Once the wound is more than a day old, I don't think stitching it is very effective... Do you have pics of the wounds? (Not to gross people out, but to take a look at the damage and possible issues.)

Not sure how to do that. I would love to show you.

Get Dog proof coon traps. Amazon has them. It will catch the coon around the wrist when they reach in to get the bait. You then have to dispatch it but I have had better luck with these than any other trap. I use dog food as bait. Yes it is tough business but I guarantee if you ever have one INside your hen house the results are devastating.

Kind of hard to tell exactly from the photo. Can you get a pic of her whole back ( w head and tail for perspective)? Go ahead and have it insert as a full sized pic as opposed to thumb nail.
