You posted a picture of a foot that concerned you on another one of your other threads. The foot didn't look bad at all, actually pretty normal. I agree with jak2002003 that bandaging could cause more harm than good.

If you think there are invisible mites, get out your microscope and take a sample of the dander to see what is there.

I have a kiddy microscope but dont know where it is. we have boxes still unpacked from our move of three years ago.... Hubby when he packed the last perhaps gobs of boxes he never labeled. If he did he labeled the top of banana boxes. RAHHHHHHH>>>> we have 40 plus years of stuff.... we had to build a large storage shed to hold just part of it... plus we have a giant garage big asTHIS or bigger than this small house.....plus we built more wings to the existing old shed. and bought another used shed....too much stuff.
several people have mentioned skin scrappings.....
the other gal (silver Girl)with the bad two toes we let out while ago. I hope she doesnt freeze. she has been in the warm basement for like SIX yes and 6 nites.... 6 days...SHE is now losing around hr neck feathers plus lots of skindander. SHE is only 9 months old...
she still has on her drawing salve (Prid)bandage(changed) from last night. Guaze pad ,then vet wrapped, then duct taped.. Hubby said the Chicken booties we bought wouldnt protect her end of her big toes.
One of her sister girls was bumping chest with her ,so I closed the gate to the one run to keep her safe. Even Roo was threatening her thru the fence. I told Hubby , we should have reintergrated her like we did Goldie Girl..I hate putting her back in her crowed coop... cant wait till Hubby finishes the BIG one....
5 of them have been given 3 nite doses of Tylan 50....
Four of the other girls were hanging out earlier in the warm topper roof coop.
warm in their today with all those top glass windoes..
I think they arealso wasting away.. read on this forum that chronic "columtusrum perfinges" (spelling)symptoms is "wasteing" they act starved.....
I am trying to find that acified copper sulfate.. Meantime some minced garlic in their vitamin water....
i was crock potting like 6 cloves and feeding them some every other day or so... cause read that it is good
. I stillhave a jar full. But scared it might hurt them giving it so much.. MY head aches from all this sickness....so many opinions....

I am not feeding my chicken junk. which yall know the big brands make....In my humble opinion.
we eat mostly organic or local grown our what we grow.... so why would I feed my chickens other than that???? WE are what we eat....
yall know our ancestors never had "feed" formulated feed.....
I am just trying to get my chickens healthy again...

I jst wish it had a little more protein. So I give them a liitle peanuts and perhapsa few millworms. Plus all the bugs etc they find all day long...themselves
 
I think the problem with your birds feathers and dropping is down to that food.

I am not saying you are feeding your birds junk.. I never said that.

Looking at the food ingredients on that link it seems its mostly mixed cracked grains with fish meal and seaweed mixed in.

Cracked grins are reject grains that are not fit for human consumption so they make it into animal feed.

The company does not tell you what 'poultry nutri balncer' is.

Why don't you go to the feed store and buy some normal chicken food.. layer if they are laying, or one with a higher protein if they are not laying and moulting or underweight?

You could trial this standard chicken feed.. say for a couple of weeks.. and then if your birds poops and body condition improve then you know its the feed...
 
I dont know . I remember reading a review for cracked grains on Amazon. For human cereals and it got great reviews.....
plus I was told at the place where I first bought that brand, 80 plus miles away, that "Ferril Nutribalancer" was used
But that doesnt explain the diahere and explosive poop from Baby Girl first.. she prob drank out of a puddle in the mulch etc.... those symptoms fit that "columstrium perfontitis" condition" that even Kathy said,..Hubby saw her pass explosive gas and liquid poo one time watching her walk around....Hubby also saw her drinking out of puudles. So he filled in with more mulch.
she had it for a while before the one of the others ones exhibited something similar... Plus I give them or was Probiotics and electrolytes etc vitamin water quite often...esp during the hot summer....
I also suspected their sand, Hubby bought from concrete plant,as to her red belly and red inner thighs and belly feahter loss....
I bought the Manna pro Organic Starter when the 9 month old were chicks... Then later the Manna Pro organic pellets.... but I decided against continueing soy.....when their were close to laying stge and went to Starter then layer.....
I think its a comb of fungus from all the rain we had spring thru early summer, them digging thru the mulch and finding puddles... possibly also finding old food in their mulch..
had to use mulch cause they turned their original smaller run into mud. and all the walking I do there and the path that they made in front of their inner run gate. Plus. we have wet spaces since we are down hill and close to a creek land. so we get all the run off from up the hills houses. Water heading for the creeks.... Bottom of our proprty was crawlfish areas when we first moved in......land is still sqishy now in places from lst week rains..creekbottom...
prev I had bought several other brand of reg pellets. it ll smelled like "chemicals" Just tonight I found some in a drywall bucket and I threw it away....Didnt realize I still had it.....
No thank you for "normal chicken food" junk....,< my opinion of course ,The Dumor and the big "P" brand etc.....Yall can buy my share of it... LOL
But I will post pics soon. So hard to get them to "pose"

If you tried the normal food.. and your birds got better, you would know to change the food. If they were still sick then you know its not the food. The organic soy free feed does not seem to be helping at the moment.

I don't think normal chicken feed should smell of chemicals.

A normal healthy chicken won't get sick from drinking water from a puddle or mixing with wild birds. Your ancestors would let the chickens free range and sleep in trees.. and not feed them any commercial feed.. organic, soy free or whatever. They would just get food scraps and find the bugs and grains for themselves.

I think you are over medicating, and the use of all this stuff might be aggravating or causing the problem... certainly not helping.

Moving them from cold to hot and back to cold
Drawing salve
Minced garlic in the water
crock potting cloves
Fish zole
Ampro illin
Squeezing toes to make them bleed
applying olive oil to their faces

Foot boots

This seem a bit excessive and labour intensive... and as they are still sick, its not helping.. and you have not identified the reason your birds are ill.

Why don't you use a mite powder on them all,
Clean out the coop,
De worm them with a proper chicken de wormer
Feed them a simple diet of layer pellets
Give them normal tap water to drink.
Oyster shell and normal grit

If they show no improvement after a couple of weeks take them to the vet for a proper diagnosis and proper treatment.

I agree with not feeding chickens the normal chicken food that can be purchased at any feed store. However, looking at the ingredients in this food, there are some ingredients that I would not feed my chickens, such as the whole oats (I tried that before and they did not eat it, so wasted), and vegetable oil (could be any, what is the source? old, rancid?), and synthetic vitamins.

My birds get homemade food, from whole grains in a base of organic field peas, and organic wheat, which I grind myself, add organic alfalfa meal, and other whole food ingredients. Laying hens get this, roosters, breeding hens, chicks, and everyone is healthy. I adjust the amount of calcium, which is their own crushed egg shells, per scoop. Plus they all forage in a very large area.

This may be the major problem....run off from houses.
 
yeah but they dont get there much. But the one coop's run had to, still has mulch....... because they destroyed the grass there when they were first confined and went outside after being chicks..lots area is on slight slope....
they do have a chance to drink from holes esp ones they make. Hubby constantly adds mulch or dirt they keep a diggin.... I will give them rainwater occ that I catch overnite in glass coffeepots. a few times I boiled it....when it more than a day old
they much prefer rainwater....then our filtered water.
