Hi guys! It's been more than a while since I checked in. I just put some Button Quail eggs in the incubator tonight. I'm excited to see how many make it. Does anyone else raise Button Quail? What do you use them for? They look pretty small for meat or eggs. I'm hoping to get a pet business going with mine.

Welcome back! Quite a few people here raise buttons (not myself currently). I think for most people they are generally for pets as you say, their eggs are very small and you wouldn't get much meat off of one. But they seem to be much easier to tame and are adorable!

I have 14 button quail (+ 15 babies) right now, just for pets. They are pretty, fun to watch, and work well in aviaries with birds like canaries and budgies. Good luck!

I have 8 right now, but they're all male! I know where I can get more eggs, but I'm not sure if I want to keep raising them. There is a market where I currently am for them as pets, but I don't think there is where I'm moving to.

Darn. Are you going to get rid of your boys before you move?

Is this breed smaller than your regular Coturnix?

Yeah, yeah, I could Google that, but Googling doesn't add to my post count or make me any new friends.

LOL. I hear ya. Yes. Button Quail are tiny. The babies are the size of a bumblebee.
