Hi Dawn! I'm new here to !I have owned many kinds of critters over the years. Right now the only livestock I have are dwarf goats.
But I have many kinds of fowl including chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, pea fowl and turkeys.
I joined this site to learn more about my fowl. And treating them.
I don't live near a vet so DIY is all I have.
thank you for allowing me in
PS I live in Utah, the weather can get cold (minus 20) at least once a year, rarely gets over 90 in the summer.
Thank you for the warm welcome@Dawn Murray - Welcome to the flock!
So glad to have you as a part of BYC. You couldn't have picked a better place to learn more about chicken/fowl care and get more information if you have questions. Folks here know their stuff and are quick to help. Also, you mentioned having goats, so I highly suggest joining BYC's sister site called Backyard Herds. There's alot of great goat people there, and they helped us when we had problems with our female goat years back.
We look forward to hearing more about your feathered friends (and goat friends of course!)
I have been raising critters all my life so 50+ years. I am always listening and learning.Hey Dawn, welcome home to BYC. You experience with many different types of fowl can be a great asset, even if you are just starting out. Being no where near a Vet means you will just have to rely on the folks here for more advice, and these folks are not shy about giving it. Listen to them because they may have already been where you are and can help avoid some of the common pitfalls. Good luck and once again welcome...
