Im Brand new to this, What do I need to feed and water chickens

daniel your coop looks great, you will become addicted like most of us are.I started out with golden comets and black sexlinks as I wanted brown eggs everyday and thats what they did. Then I wanted some color in my flock so I ordered easter eggers, they were all differant colors and some layed blue eggs,Now I am trying to have all buff orpintons,I do have two faverolles because they have such cute faces,I also have 13 silkies becasue they are so cute and great broodies so they will hatch all my eggs for me.Silkies will hatch anything you put under them when they are broodie even air.LOL This is one of my faverolles Lucy

This is one of my black sexlinks, they are not suppose to go broody as that has been bred out of them, but she did last year so I kept her sitting on golf balls ustill my baby chicks come that I had ordered and went out at night and took out the golf balls and put four baby buff orpintons under her and she was glad in the moring that her golf balls had hatched, she was a very good mother.

And this was one of my favortie EE(easter egger) her name of whitie and she always helped me do the chores talked to me the whole time,I went out one morning and she had died in her sleep her eyes were still closed,my heart was broke, but those things happen and we don`t know why.

Your coup and run design look great! Nice Job! I use the heated dog water dishes to water in the winter and they work great (One Gallon one will hold enough fresh water for about 20 chickens for one day ) (They need fresh water everyday) I have a giant 5 gallon waterer that i use during the spring and summer but you need to keep it changed out and fresh espically during the summer months if it is really! They also need someplace to dust themselves You can use a mixture of dirt sand and woodash in it (The sand makes it easy to scratch in and the woodash helps to keep down the bugs and mites off of them

Here is a link to a plan for a feeder you can build and in my opinion it looks great!

There are several places on here on how to build waterers and feeders. But the above one is a really good design and looks fairly simple to build
