My Coop
My Coop
How long does it take two chickens to establish a pecking order? One of my chickens won't stop pecking. They've already pecked the other chicken countless times and the one getting pecked is hiding on the bottom floor of the coop. I feel like I should do something or the pecking won't stop.

Can you please post pictures of your setup?
Do you just have 2 birds?
How old are they and how long have they been together?

Well, they've been together for only 4 or so hours, but I believe that the cause is my coop is too small. One of them is around 4 months, and I just got one today, and I forgot to ask the age, but it's smaller.

It's always best to quarantine a new bird before exposing your flock to them.
It is also best to use the 'look don't touch' method of introduction for about a week before allowing new birds to interact with each other. And, yes, you need lots of space for integration.
Pictures of your setup will still be useful.
