You're not alone, look up threads for gamefowl (my favorite breeds). Doesn't matter what the topic is, there will only be about 5 posts max (unless it is a sociable thread like show off your games) and it will be from game owners only. "Maybe" one odd person out. People tend to bypass over the threads involving them for some reason?

ETA: Of course some do occasionally get two pages though, if there are a lot of questions involved.

I know what you mean. I had a lot of trouble getting responses for my humidity questions! I think since incubating and hatching eggs is such a high traffic area, a lot of posts don't get answered. I myself read a lot of the "0" posts, but I am such a newbie that I can't give any advice, only support.

Totally know what you mean though.

Plus I have trouble with patience.

I think part of the problem is the ratio of newbies to experienced folks right now. Try to hang in there. It really isn't personal.

As more of us gain more experience and knowledge, we can be more helpful to others. I've never hatched in an incubator (I have a great broody...and a DH who says I have enough chickens right now. My broody isn't speaking to him...

), so I am useless to answer hatching questions. Hence, I don't look there much. Wish I had, 'cause I would have at least given you a friendly bump to try to get you noticed.

Anyway...don't give up. Everyone here wants to help. It's just that not everyone can, yet.

Exactly, I quite often don't get responses, but I will change the subject to something more eye catching, and try again. Unfortunately with thousands of post a day, it doesn't take long for a post to get lost in the shuffle. I try to check out the 0 responses everyday, but I am not comfortable leaving a reply if I just don't have an answer. Plus I have noticed that if I post later at night, I don't get responses because people are having family time, or East coasters are warm in bed. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

It is nice to hear some other people who feel the same way. I feel like I post a lot and rarely get answers. Most likely the majority of people on here feel that way with so many members. I bet if you started a Polling post asking who felt like their posts never get answers you would have one of the longest ones on here

I have gotten into the habit of only reading recent posts unless there is something specefic I am looking for. Perhaps that has a lot to do with it if most people do the same thing. It could be all about timing when you post your post and maybe giving yourself a bump if no one responded. I haven't actually tried that yet but seen other people do it. I try to answer as much as I can with my limited knowledge......

The great thing about the search feature is that you can find the answer to almost anything.

Frequently when I come on at night I'll read questions.... some that I feel like I have personally answered at least 10 times previously.... I suppose it gets a little old. But...

Like Debbie, I try to answer at least a few of the 0 replies posts every day. I think there are a number of us on here who try to do that. Cyn answers the same old questions over, and over an over again... GOD BLESS HER SOUL!!!.. .and we are ALL very grateful for her dedication.

Don't give up on us. Keep learning, keep searching and eventually you will be one of those we look to for answers.

That is what this site is all about.

I think a lot of it is there's the same questions over and over and people get tired of typing the same answers each day. You mentioned a post about helping hatching eggs. They're are literally hundreds of pages on here about that topic if you search for it, and no one answer. Seems about 60% say to help them, while 40% wouldn't help them for anything. Just earlier tonight in the recent posts feature there were 3, count em 3!, posts about how to get chicks to go into the coop at night. I think some people don't want to look for info, they want an instant answer. I'm guilty of it at times as well. But if my post gets no answers, then I start searching, and almost always find my answer. But, if you go into the chick section, and the 5th post down is "why won't my chicks go in at night?" and it has 7 replies, and then you dont bother looking at that and post "my chicks wont go into their coop at dark", well, thats why you dont get any answers.

Also, a great starting place is the forum FAQs listed at the top right of every page. LOT of info there.

So, if you want to get mad and not post, that's your choice. Or you could look up the easy questions, post harder ones, and help answer those you know the answers to.

Unfortunately with thousands of post a day, it doesn't take long for a post to get lost in the shuffle.

This is very true. When I do not have an answer for someone, I don't answer. When it is a very common question that is easily researched, I also often skip over it due to time constraints. And even I have threads that are not replied to on occasion. You can't let that get to you in this fast-paced forum atmosphere of 50K+ members. It's nothing personal. Those threads roll off the page quickly at times.
