im freaking out. quails foot is super swollen?

OK so I have a Quail that has this exact same thing. What ended up happening with yours?

I actually treated mine for bumble foot since July, ended up taking her to the vet and he thought it was possibly a broken bone. I couldn’t spend $500 on her to get the x-ray so we agreed to treat with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory.

It is better as far as it was less swollen, not as hot to the touch as before and she cannot walk on it. But after two rounds of anabiotic‘s, she is still very swollen. I will attach pictures of mine. Honestly no one seems to be able to know if it is gout or what....

That second picture looks like you have an open sore there. If you hadn't already completed two rounds of antibiotics I would say infection. I'm still kind of leaning that way since it's possible that she didn't get the right antibiotics but I'm not a vet.

Have you tried soaking the foot in a warm (about quail body temp or a couple of degrees warmer) epsom salt bath? If there's an open sore, it will soften the scab and maybe allow it to drain if there's matter in there.

yes sorry I didn’t say that in my post. Yes she had scabs way back in July and I soaked her for weeks with Epsom salts, used Prid drawing salve, Vetricyn all of it and her foot just got more swollen.
the antibiotics are Baytril, high dose and it is very powerful and kills al bacteria so I really don’t see how it could be infection at this point.
That’s why I’m thinking either gout or broken foot.
