I'm Freaking Out!!!!

There is a snake lurking by my coop! I know it's a harmless gardner snake but I am terrified of snakes!It's about ten inches long.if I let the girls out will they kill it? I am shaking so badly right now. I can't kill it,that's not an option. Help!

Snakes I can handle spiders and roaches on the otherhand will send me screaming like a banshee lol. If your girls are grown they'll probably try to eat it. Its a shame you cant just shoo it with a rake or such into a more convienent location. They are great for eating bugs and such in the garde. Just make sure it is a garden snake and not something more dangerous!

Mine would kill it too. Of course then you'll have to watch them play keep away with it, but they get the job done. I like having the snakes around though so if I see them I try to save them.

Let them out and go hide inside till someone else comes to dispatch the remnants...oh sorry thats what I would do!

I know I'd freak out if I saw a snake in my yard. I've jumped when lizards startle me. It's just the legless aspect of snakes that creeps me out. I think anything with less than two or more than four legs is an abomination.

However, I don't kill 'em. They have their place in the ecology, darn it.

(I DO kill black widow spiders, though.)
