I'm getting a goat!

Thanks for the replies. Lucy has arrived safe and sound. She's cute as a button, solid white and thinks she is a person. She took to my boys straight away and the 5 year old is spoiling her rotten already.

I joined GoatTalk so am ready to learn all I can. Dh isn't home yet ( LMAO ) so has no idea what he's coming home to find. I'm going to start looking for a Dwarf Nigerian doeling that is unregistered/not show quality for her to have as a buddy.

I'll get pics soon.

Yep they love company and children just love goats, I saw you joined Goat Talk ...Kate and I are members there and we just love it...hope to see you there and yes you can find Nigerians that are cheaper and you can get wethers for $25 or 50 and they dont smell like bucks do ...Thats if you dont want to breed them but a doe would be nice too I have over 40 goats and love all of them...I raise Nigerians and La Manchas and Alpines...so its a goat Heaven here...Have fun with your new girl and remember to not overfeed her as they tend to be little pigs...always eating...

You might also consider kinders if you're looking for dairy and meat.. They're a great dual purpose goat.. I think there's a couple of breeders in your region of the US.. Here's the site for the Kinder Goat Breeders Association.. www.kindergoats.com

Thanks for the info on the Kinders. I found a VERY nice lady in Virginia who is going to give my son a dwarf Nigerian doeling of his choosing. I'm going to make arrangements with her to get the Nigerian in the next couple of weeks.

As for deporting DH. I don't know if the State of Kentucky wants him back. LMAO
