These are my very first ducks.
I can't wait till get here.
They have not been laying long. So I can not wait to start hatching too.
So what is the best way for them to learn their new home so they do not fly away?
I have a large pond just for them so they should be happy with their new hone.
Any help will be great!

Clip a wing if your worried about hem flying away. Keep them locked inside for a few days with water and food. YOu may have to chase them inside in the evenings for a few days.

You can herd ducks (I herd my muscovies and my pekin) I walk behind them, If I want them to go straight I put both arms out to my sides, if I want them to go left, I put my right arm out, and to go right my left arm.

Post pics when you have them

Thanks,
I have a picture of just 2 of them.

Ok that is what I was thinking that it would take a few days to settle in and realize this is home now.

Very cute Tonya and the pond is beautiful also. The last time I was there, I thought I heard it crying for some calls...

I just hatched an Ancona Duckling and someone talked me into selling it already.

I only had the one that hatched so I decided they would be able to really love it and take care of it.

Does anyone know where I might be able to order some Ancona Ducklings? I really do think they are adorable.
