We already have the duck thing down pretty good, and I helped a member here get a lovely pair of older geese. Well now, I'm going to be getting some myself! They range in age from about 4 to 12 weeks. I dont know who I'll be picking and bringing home yet. They also have adults, although I will most likely just get babies.
Is there anything special I can do with these slightly older ones to make them really friendly? DH says they will be for eating unless they happen to turn out really nice or we get really attached to them, so I'm hoping to make them ALL friendly! Our ducklings are about 4 weeks old now, and the goslings will be going in the pen with them. We got the ducklings at about a week old, and they were quite skittish and we still have trouble getting them not to run away from us. I am trying to offer treats but they seem too bonded with each other to care much about humans. How can I avoid this with these new ones coming tomorrow? Any ideas are helpful!
