im glad schools have their priorities straight

Here the policy is actually "distracting" hair styles and colors not found in natural hair. However, this leaves alot open to interpretation.

I would love it if all schools had a uniform policy. It would take away much of the competion over who wears what brand, eliminate the issue of "gang" colors, and even the playing field for rich and poor. I also know it will never happen in a public school situation where I live.

I like the uniform policy too. I am all for following the rules the school district sets even if I do not agree with all of them.

I am however disappointed in the hollow promises of our own local district when it comes to ZERO TOLERANCE of Bullying. What a joke. The rules are in place, but getting a school to follow them to protect your child is impossible. Even after a few years I am still sad thinking about what my child went through(in K no less!),and the many wasted months I spent trying to get the school to honor their promise to provide my child with a safe and nurturing environment.

I school shop now and if a problem is not resolved extremely fast I take my child(and the money that comes with him) and move on.
