I currently have 4 pullets that are about to turn one. Just got a deal to rent the barn behind my house. It has a coop set up in it already with an attached 1/2 acre run.
I jumped in today with both feet. I ordered 30 chicks from Purely Poultry. 5 Dominique, 7 EE's, 5 Buff Orpingtons, 5 Cinnamon Queens, 4 GLW, 4 SLW. I expect I will get the chicks in early April.
I can't wait. I think it will pretty a pretty flock. What do you think? I would love to add some blue laced red wyandottes to the group or maybe some welsummers.
Is it possible to get chicks from 2 different hatcheries and put them together?
Would that be too dangerous disease wise?
If I brooded them separately, how far apart in age could they be and still go into the coop together?
Man I have chicken fever bad!!!!
Thanks,
Liz
