so I sent my hubby to get cedar chips for fleas and ticks a bale of hay a bale of straw and some pine chips for the 10 little chicks I just took in from a friend of mine (they are a very long story for another time) so he comes home with everything I asked for plus 12 more chicks seriously I already have 44chickens in my main coop and 9roos in the batchler pad oh and I figured out why I got 8eggs in the mail I ordered some and not 1 egg hatched so I emailed the lady I got them from so she sent me 8 more so I have those in the incubater :barnieI'm gonna loose it

It's not that I really care that he got them my thing is that I take care of them and I have my hands full so in my main coop i have 44chickens 8ducks 7guineas and 3bunnies i just built a batchler pad for rescued roo's and I have 147quail in there own pen 8chick eggs in incubater and 60quail eggs in my other incubater then my friend got chicks and 1wk later her and her husband got in a crazy blowout fight cop's were called he's in jail and her landlord kicked them out so i ended up with her 10 2wk old chicks and he brings home 12 4day old chicks without saying anything It's just gonna take me a few to wrap my head around it all

I was going to say, I guess this is the chicken math I’ve been reading about! :celebrate

We were trying to downgrade a few years back to transition to ducks, and out of the blue someone we know messages saying they are getting rid of their flock. I had been around these birds alot and loved them/was familiar with them. Needless to say - they suggested we use them for meat, but the pitiful little things ended up being rehabbed and babied instead. We added four hens at that point :D (though two have passed since then, but they were such lovebugs and a joy to have had around). Sometimes you can't help yourself with the addition + part of the math!
