Thanks you all! I did look on Craigslist, we are in (Eastern Kentucky) and I found some half grown pekin ducks I may call about (6$ a piece). We have decided to go ahead and keep her in the house another week or two and build a separate duck house out of scrap lumber (hubs started today). So I have 2 weeks to find something as he does not want any more ducks IN the house with us. My concern with more ducks is that they would need to be quarantined and I dont have the resources to house 2 ducks separate or in house and by the time quarantine is over... I can just imagine that would cause more headache than not. And I have a hard time getting half grown birds and NOT quarantining them!
The plan right now is to put my newest hen which is a white mutt looking girl in with the duckling in the duck house at night (unless I get some more pekins). The reason I chose her is because she is on the bottom of the pecking order so she wasn't involved with the almost shanking that went down earlier and last night she was the only one to come up and drink from the same water source as the duck at the same time. She also was the one that hung around my mallard a lot since they were both pseudo outsiders so I think she will respond the most favorably. Especially if pulled from the main flock like I plan to.
Thanks again and if anyone has any leads on Pekins in Eastern Kentucky, please let me know!!!!
